Thurs. 7/29/10-IRB approval received!
Fri. 7/30/10-I called Vonda and talked about sending out my Study Invitational Letter on Mon. 8/2/10. Vonda asked me if I would be doing the class observations blindly and I thought afterwards that this would have been a great idea--I will recommend it in my Chapter 5. I will call her on Mon. morning (2nd) to disccus which branches/regionals have the most potential for supplying participants. I will contact them Tuesday, 8/3 and arrange class visits for the second week of August. I will plan to make 2-3 class visits a week in August and also line up interviews the day of these class visits, then follow through with calling the students to remind them of their interviews.
Sat. 7/31/10-I set up my Research Blog on blogger.com. I checked the broward.org/library website for all of the active English Cafe class times and dates for the month of August.
Sun. 8/1/10-I will purchase chart paper at Dr. Bryan's advice and being charting my class visits and people I've spoken to. I will start my research this coming week, recording my class visits and interviews on my calendar.
